My new tattoo

My grandparents were very important to me. I was an only grandchild and they doted on me. They both died last year. Since I'm leaving Texas to move to Seattle next week, I wanted to take a little part of them with me. When I was a kid, they had a CB radio. Our handles were Mama Rat, Papa Rat, and Baby Rat. The Rat Pack. My buddy Bart did this tattoo for me in honor of them. The little cowboy outfit was my favorite one and Grandpa was always doing crossword puzzles. It turned out bigger than I thought but I love it. It covers half the outside of my left leg.

She says: The purpose of my study is to analyze the media content and representations of gays/lesbians on the television program Xena: Warrior Princess (Tapert, 1995) and to explore its use of gay/lesbian subtext as an example of a non-normalized queered televised curriculum. The use of the word “subtext” in this study will refer to the verbal and non-verbal cues the characters of the show relayed to its audience members."

XenaCast Episode #9

XenaCast episode 9 is here!

Listen to Episode 9

Be sure to visit the new home page of XenaCast

This show marks a change in the podcast. I've decided to add some additional segments to the show and review two episodes of Xena instead of four. Doing four episodes a show, I would be out of episodes in just a couple of months. By doing two episodes, I can extend them out for a while longer plus by adding segments, I will have something to do once the episodes are gone.

Keep an eye out for the link to my Xena Fanfiction Podcast coming soon.

The newest Xena podcast is Adventures in the Sin Trade. It's really good so be sure and check it out.

This You Tube video is one of the best I've found so far. It's of Lucy's performance at The Roxy last weekend during the Xena Convention. Renee O'Connor makes a go-go dancing cameo.

Photos from the convention on MaryD's AusXip site.

The lyrics to the Bacchae song from Girls Just Wanna Have Fun:

The moon is up and there's a chill tonight
Come on and dance away the growing fright
Wave your hands in the air like you just don't care
Want to get with the rhythm to the morning light
I used to think that I liked being all alone
But now I'm feeling kind of warm like its nice to be
Should've known better than to want to be alone
But the beat is so strong, I got to take it on

Come on, come on do it with me now,
come on, come on, do it with me now,
come on, come on, do it
If you want my love, you got to dring the blood

I want to dance with you I want you right next to me
I want your soul, and I'll give you what you need to be
Feel the music - sniff your hair
I'll keep you warm against the cold night air
Just one kiss is what you need right now
Just one kiss and I will show you how
Just one kiss is what you need tonight
To go dancing with the devil by the pale moonlight

come on, come on, do it with me now,
come on, come on, do it with me now,
come on, come on, do it,
If you want my love, you got to drink the blood

come on, come on, do it with me now,
come on, come on, do it with me now,
come on, come on, do it,
If you want my love, you got to drink the blood
